Couples Photography

No posing. No pretending. Just the two of you, being yourselves.

You don't have to be “a couples photo person.”

Most of the couples I work with tell me they've never done this before. Good. I don't need you to have done it before. I need you to show up, hold hands if you want, and let me move around you. Sixty to ninety minutes at Fernwood Hills — a private 40-acre property in Komoka, about fifteen minutes west of London, Ontario. You'll forget I'm there by the fifteen-minute mark.

There's no shot list. No “look here” or “tilt your chin.” The real stuff — the laugh you weren't ready for, the look when you think nobody's watching — that's the whole point.

We'll walk the trails, sit on the farmhouse porch, find the light that's working. I photograph what actually happens between you — the hand on the small of the back, the joke only you two get, the quiet moments that don't need a caption.

Edited images delivered in a private online gallery, usually within two weeks. Every image is individually edited — no batch filters, no presets.

Where sessions happen.

Fernwood Hills sits on 40 private acres in Komoka, Ontario — fifteen minutes from London, close to St. Thomas and Strathroy. A restored century farmhouse, a modern studio loft, forest trails, open meadows, and whatever the sky is doing that day. It's not a park and it's not a studio — it's a private property where you can be completely yourselves without an audience.

If you have a spot that means something to you — a favourite trail, a coffee shop, the place you got engaged — off-site sessions are an option too. We'll talk about what makes sense when you reach out.

What to wear, what to bring.

Wear what makes you feel like yourselves. Layers work well for variety — a jacket you can take off, a scarf, rolled-up sleeves. Neutral tones photograph beautifully at Fernwood Hills, but the most important thing is comfort. If you live in jeans and a flannel, wear jeans and a flannel.

Dogs are welcome. Blankets, a bottle of wine, a book — props that are actually yours add texture to the session. Leave the matching outfits at home.

Who books couples sessions.

People who want real photos of their relationship — not a performance. Newly engaged couples who want something better than a phone selfie for the announcement. Anniversary celebrations. People who just want to mark where they are right now. You don't need a reason and you don't need to be “good in front of the camera.” Nobody is. That's what makes it work.

Couples drive from London, St. Thomas, Strathroy, Woodstock, and across Southwestern Ontario. Some make a day of it — session in the afternoon, dinner in town after. There's no rush.

We were nervous going in. Ten minutes with Lee and we completely forgot the camera was there. The photos look exactly like us.
